OA USA Opens Application Process for OLI Church Planting Session Aug. 22-28

OA USA has opened the applications process to review, evaluate and decide on the participants for the OLI training session for Church Planting on August 22-28 that is expected to include participants from throughout the 50 U.S. states and the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico. Every U.S. presbytery has been informed of the opening of the application process, which hopes to open the way for opening 250 U.S. cities by the 2016 General Assembly.

The applications include basic information about the participants, including basic personal information, relationship with the local pastors that are sending them, personal statements and other background information that will determine if the applicant will be accepted for the training.

It is expected that upon completion of the training, those who are approved for church planting will be dispatched to their mission fields.

In a meeting with U.S. region leaders, on Wedesday, OA USA's president emphasized the importance of this church planting project as part of  a wider plan to expand U.S. mission for current church growth, expansion of many ministries and to prepare regions for a clear aim as for the Summer retreats.

"Then, let's really prepare our hearts for this with prayer. Please look at the need. There is great need. There is a lot of suffering going on in the world that is suffering without hope in christ," said OA USA President Francis Helguero in the meeting. "People of God may suffer as well, but with faith they have hope in what God will reveal and his comfort."

"So please meditate and pray on this suffering of people in light of Christ's suffering for us as we prepare the pioneering and for the church and ministry growth," he concluded.
