Tentmaking Conference to Build Church Planting Self Support Network
In order to support the mission field and the church planting projects around the globe, several missionaries have come to the tentmaking conference to learn the skills necessary to support themselves. During this conference, these leaders are learning many different skills and methods with which they can secure finances for their churches and ministries in various nations across the country. This 4 week training period will set them up with a basic level of understanding before they return to the mission field.
Each day, missionaries are receiving lectures consisting of various business models that have been successful in the field before. Missionaries are researching their respective states and cities to see what kind of method will be the most successful in supporting their church and families.
Olivet Assembly mission headquarters seeks to plant 1000 churches in 2017, and for each church to achieve self-support. With this model in place, church growth and expansion can occur more quickly and frequently. Like Apostle Paul, learning a skill like this allows for the minister to focus on the mission by allowing them to earn their own funds. Missionaries are thankful for this training period and are excited to begin building this network of mission continuously.
33 I have not coveted anyone's silver or gold or clothing.34 You yourselves know that these hands of mine have supplied my own needs and the needs of my companions. 35 In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.'
