Nehemiah Project

Nehemiah 1
8 “Remember the instruction you gave your servant Moses, saying, ‘If you are unfaithful, I will scatter you among the nations, 9 but if you return to me and obey my commands, then even if your exiled people are at the farthest horizon, I will gather them from there and bring them to the place I have chosen as a dwelling for my Name.’

Vision

Nehemiah Project is one of several projects Olivet Assembly USA operates as an effort to fulfill the national goal of revival of North American Mission.

The project takes its biblical foundation in the book of Nehemiah in the Old Testament. Nehemiah, a Jewish cup-bearer to the king of Susa (the Persian capital), heard the news of Jerusalem which was destructed and deserted in around the second half of the 5th century BC. The devout believer wept and prayed to the Lord for redemption of the holy city and returning of his people.

The prayer was answered and the King of Susa allowed Nehemiah to practice his wish and plan. In spite of strong opposition and numerous hindrances, Nehemiah completed rebuilding of the walls and reforming of his people to conform to the law of Moses.

The story throws a vivid vision to believers today to follow its example of redeeming God’s city and temple with absolute faith. Even if the city of God and its people may have been scattered and lost their life, the tragic reality can turn into a wholly different story of Nehemiah who recorded a new history of reestablishment of God’s city and His people.

Nehemiah Project coordinates with various construction and renovation teams with architect to redeem abandoned churches and religious properties to function as Lord’s temple where worshipers of Jesus gather and express their faith.
